Fans queue for eight hours to see The Wanted in Walkden! ♥

Jay, Max, Tom, Siva and Nathan

There was no mistaking who were the most wanted fellas in Manchester at the weekend.
Hundreds of screaming fans headed to Walkden to catch chart-topping boyband The Wanted as they signed copies of their new album.
And the fan frenzy caused quite a stir at Tesco in the town centre – particularly as due to health and safety wrangles fans had to queue outside on a pavement next to the busy main road.
Because the supermarket is based within the Ellesmere Shopping Centre, Tesco had to seek permission from their landlords to have the signing inside the store - but amid concerns for health and safety ended up having to host the chart-topping boyband in a holding area at the rear. And even then, only 10 fans at a time were allowed in to see their pop idols.
Still, it didn’t dampen the enthusiasm of the fans, many of whom had queued for over 8 hours to meet the five heart-throb lads.
First in line was 16-year-old Michael Carter from Ashton, who reckons he can lay claim to the title of The Wanted’s biggest male fan.
He said: “The band have even quoted me in their magazine articles as their biggest male fan. I just think they represent the new era of boybands. They’re all real lads, and there’s nothing fake about them.”
Meanwhile 16-year-old Sophie Worthington from Stalybridge has followed them across the country since first discovering the band on Twitter.
She says: “I’ve been to London, Liverpool, Wigan and Warrington to see them, so I’m pretty pleased they’ve come a bit closer to home this time.
“They’re all dead down to earth and have kept their feet on the ground and of course they’re all gorgeous.”
The Wanted lads – Tom Parker, Max George, Siva Kaneswaran, Jay McGuiness and Nathan Sykes – were delighted such a big crowd had turned out.
Jay said: “It’s day in, day out now meeting so many fans every single day, but every day we wake up with a huge grin on our face, it’s the best part of what we do.”
And for local lads Tom, from Bolton, and Max, from Swinton, it was particularly special to be back on home turf.
Max said: “It felt so good driving up and seeing the queue outside and meeting so many people, it’s just mental.
“My dad”s house, where I grew up, is literally just a minute’s walk down the road from here.
“And this is where my mum and dad always shopped, and my nan and grandad, and they still do.
“So this is where I’ve been fed from all my life!”
Tom added: "I’m probably more local to Walkden than Max is today, because Bolton is just two miles up the road from here for me.”

The Wanted HEART VACANCY video release ♥

HELLO! EXCITING DAY.
THE HEART VACANCY IS OUT.....AND ITS GOOD, REALLY GOOD.
Enjoy, and make sure you tweet it!
Heres some picture from behind the scenes at the heart vacancy shoot:

-And here is an amazing Review of the Heart vacancy video, written by:@sarahchambers19
The video has finally been released. Some very lucky people got to see it on Thursday (I hope they realise how very lucky they are) while the rest of us had to get up at stupid o’clock on a Sunday morning to watch it.

However despite getting up at half 7 on a Sunday morning, which should be made illegal by the way, it was definitely worth the wait.

The anticipation was built up during the week with each member releasing a very short clip from the video each day.

Onto the video, filmed in Croatia, as most of you know, the guys walk down a very narrow street in a proper boy band style, occasionally taking a rest sitting on the pavement. This may sound very simple but the guys do it very effectively and look HOT!

Then we are introduced to a small Croatian community watching an old film on a projector while the guys sing over the top of it, kind of narrating it. The main male in the film then comes through the projector takes the hand of a girl in the audience who has been looking longingly at the film throughout the video and takes her back into the film. Kidnap or what!!!!

The video ends with the guys lounging on the chairs, yet still managing to look very sexy. They all seem to have picked up the good old boy band moody stare very quickly as they all seem experts at it in the last shot, not that I am complaining of course!!
Thanks so much to Sarah Chambers!
Also, for the last two days iv been promising to give whoever tweeted @thewantedmusic the link of the blog a mention on this post:
so here they are, & Thanks so much to:
@sarahchambers19

Heres another mimi review of the video from @MariaIsabel_TW
Even though I'm a huge The wanted Fan, I try to keep this review unbiased.
The video starts with a some shots of the band walking though what looks like a small European town. They have some roughing around here and there. Some emotional glares at the camera are added too. The video switches back and forth from daylight to night. This small European town seems to be gathered at a like a film showing at the plaza. There’s a young boy who seems to be messing with the projection. Then the camera pan to a youngish woman who seems to infatuated with the people on screen Now the wanted are at the plaza sitting watching the film like normal blokes. Oh wait, now the people on screen seem to be talking to the audience particular the woman mentioned above. Everyone's freaking out, unsure what to do. Now for the craziest part. the man in the film just walks out from the film into the audience and grabs the woman to join him in the film. They enter back and leave though the door in the film.
Now that was some crazy stuff. I was a bit confused as to why the audience was freaking out. I had to watch it a couple times to understand the people in the film where speaking to the audience. I really liked the color scheme used in the video. The tans and blues worked really well. I think as a second music video they did very well.

Thanks! MariaIsabel_TW

Nathan On Heart Vacancy, the album, and getting a number 1! ♥

Hello,
So we all love reading interviews from the wanted and hears a very special one from @Nathanthewanted by MTV! Enjoy!

How does it feel to have a number one under your belt?
“We can’t quite believe it! We were over the moon when we found out – and we’re still buzzing from it now! The day before the single came out, we said we’d be happy for it just to make the top 40. None of us was sure which way it was going to go.”

You did loads of gigs in schools to promote it. Do you think that really paid off?
“We took that route mainly because of how difficult it is for boybands to break out. There’s only JLS out there and they came off the back of The X Factor, which is obviously the best leverage you can get right now! I guess we took the ground-up approach and decided the school gigs were the only way for us to build a strong fan-base.”

Is that why you kept pushing back the single’s release date?
“That was more to do with promoting the song as much as possible rather than picking the right week, which a lot of artists do. We had massive competition that week from Travie McCoy, and then Flo Rida released his track a week early too. We honestly thought we didn’t stand a chance. I’m not going to lie, the fact we came out on top makes us feel a little bit good about ourselves!”

Single two’s a track called ‘Heart Vacancy’. How would you describe it?
“It’s completely different to ‘All Time Low’. It’s a ballad, but not your typical boyband ballad, because there’s no big key-change-stand-up moment in it. It’s just a big, catchy record that we’re all really fond of and we hope everyone else likes it as much as we do!”

What’s the video like?
“The video’s less frantic than our last one. A lot of people must have looked at the ‘All Time Low’ video and thought, ‘Who the hell are these guys and why are they jumping around like idiots?’ This one has a storyline and we each tell a part of it. We had a lot of fun filming it.”

The Wanted recently launched a competition asking fans to choose which song you should cover for the B-side. Have you picked a winner yet?
“It’s going really well! We’ve had some hilarious suggestions from the fans. Some of them just want us to do their favourite song at the moment without thinking about how we’d even begin to cover it. The suggestions have allowed us to come up with all sorts of new song arrangement ideas too, so it’s been a helpful exercise. We haven’t picked a winner yet but we’re getting close!”

So, What would be your least favourite song to cover?
“‘The Birdie Song’. Or maybe a song by the Cheeky Girls. Whatever happened to them?”

When can we expect to hear your album?
“We’re still in the process of finishing it. We had a break from the studio and now we’ve gone back in to record a whole load of new tracks. At the moment we’ve written about 40-50% of the lyrics, which we’re really proud of. We had to beg our label to give us more time in the studio because we were keen to have more input. To begin with, they gave us just one day to complete a track, which is difficult by anyone’s standards, but it turned out that they loved what we came up with and now it’s on the album.”

Does it have a title yet?
“We still haven’t thought of one! We’re going to come up with the title once the album’s completely finished. Having said that, we’ll probably go for something quite simple in the end anyway.”

What tracks should we listen out for?
“There’s a track called ‘Golden’ that I love to bits. It’s like nothing else on the album as it’s got quite an unusual sound. For that reason it probably won’t be a single, but it’s a great track for the album and shows a different side to us. It takes us far away from that typical boyband sound.”

Your fan-base is already pretty dedicated. What’s the nicest thing a fan’s done for you?
“I’m not sure if this counts as nice, but a fan threw a tampon on stage with ‘I love Max’ written on it. At a different gig a fan threw her bracelet on stage – we picked it up and all of a sudden loads of fans were chucking bracelets at us. It was both an incredibly sweet and strange experience!”
